OH, sooooo close!

Mason is super close to starting to crawl. As you can see, he is almost up on all fours. It is only a matter of time before he is on the move!

MASON'S MOHAWK!

So, Mommy almost had a coronary when she saw the picture of Mason's hair. Miss Mindy got creative and styled his hair into a mohawk. I guess the process was somewhat therapuetic for the little guy. Daddy told mommy to chill out because she was still at work and thought maybe they shaved his head! Nope, just a new do :) Isn't he cute?!

Along Came Mr. Alligator...

So one of Mason's favorite song-play is :
Five little monkeys sitting on a tree, teasing Mr. Alligator, can't catch me...
Along came Mr. Aligator quiet as can be...
SNAP!
Four little monkeys sitting on a tree...and so on and so on :)
He LOVES this song and will laugh and laugh. Luckily, we got a hand-me-down alligator toy from Crisanne and Katy and Mason LOVES it!

A Melancholy Memory

So today is the one year anniversary of my auntie Sharon's passing away. Can't believe it has already been a year. She was a sister, a daughter, an auntie, a teacher, a friend, an angel. We miss her smiling face so much. Mason and I drove down to Glen Abbey today and put flowers on both her's and grandma and grandpa's gravesites. Both of them loved fresh flowers. I guess it hepls us to remember to treasure each day while we have it. We can't change it or do it over. And we never know when we'll not have another one.
Here's to all my friends and family...we love you!

BYE BYE 3-6 MONTH ONESIES

We bought this onesie at Sea Port Village one day because we LOVED the saying..."Potty Like A Rockstar"! HA! But unfortunately, Mason never wore it. So when we tried to put it on him the other day, he looked like a flashback from the 80's with a half shirt and leg warmers!
Oh well, we'll save it for the next one!

Mason's New Trick

Just wait to you see this! You will LOVE it! Don't forget to pause the music so you can hear the sound...it's a must!

New Foods

Mommy has been trying to get new foods made so that Mason had a variety of fruits and veggies to choose from. So we have now tried avocado, tofu, garbanzo beans, carrots, broccoli, acorn squash, yellow squash, sweet potatoes, peas, peaches, bananas, apples, and pears. Some things are better mixed with rice cereal. But we are trying to get him to eat them as is...so sometimes he has a palate of food for lunch or dinner. That way, when we transition to people food, hopefully the taste won't be too unfamiliar. Though the texture may be a bit different. We have also tried zwieback toast, apple wheels, and banana rice
puffs. He's not too sure what to do with those. But we are working on it. And he'salso starting to hold his own bottle.

Helping Mommy

So Mason wanted to help Mommy take down the Christmas decorations after he took his nap. This was the best place to hangout!

**A MELLISH CHRISTMAS**

Mason's First Christmas!

So Mommy has a lot of catching up to do. This is Mason on Christmas day...his First Christmas! And the best present Mommy and Daddy could ever ask for! More pictures to follow this weekend...I promise!

Four Stages of Life...for Santa!

Grandpa Aguilar had this shirt on Christmas Eve and I thought it was sooooo cute:

"Four Stages of Life"

1. You believe in Santa

2. You believe Santa is fake

3. You play Santa

4. You look like Santa

I think Grandpa Aguilar has graduated to number #4! :) We love you!

Mason gets a present!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE! So as tradition goes in the Kujawa-Colvin house, the kids get to open one present on Christmas eve. Well, we chose this one from Mee-Maw because there was already a little help with unwrapping it...the paper came torn in the box. But that made no difference to Mason...he LOVES this toy! It's the jungle animal treehouse and has become one of his favorites to play with! Thank you Mee-Maw!
Note: It seems no matter how hard I try to put these photos in a nice pretty order, they never come out that way on the blog...sissy, HELP!

Hasta La Vista Texas!

We had a relaxing, yet fun-filled five days with Grammy. Mason was so happy to meet you and can't wait to see you again. Now it is back to sunnier skies in San Diego! Thank you Dolly for being such a gracious host and for showing us your new home! It is beautiful and I know we will just be the first of many visitors to your new diggs (that is a hint for all you family and friends to go check it out). And just a note...be sure to have her take you to Rudy's for their awesome, yummy (unfortunately not fat-free) creamed corn! Thanks for letting us spend a few of the holli-days with you. It was unforgettable! Merry Christmas!

AREN'T THEY CUTE!?

What a Face!

Another great picture!! So Mommy decided to try something different at the restaurant and find something Mason could eat. Pickin's were slim because he doesn't yet have teeth and Mommy's trying to stay away from canned stuff with lots of sugar. We found cantaloupe and honey dew melon...of which you can see I'm not sure Mason liked too much. Whether it was the taste, the texture, or the temperature, his face tells it all!

Mommy Did It!

So we hadn't been able to get Mason to laugh like he did before thanksgiving when Calvin had those silly magnets...UNTIL NOW! Mommy was playing with Mason at the restaurant "Sooper Salad" (kinda like Souplantation) and Mason just laughed and laughed and laughed! And he even got the hiccups...just like Mommy and Auntie Amanda and her kids :) Just thought you'd like to get a chuckle out of this too! The picture is a little blurry because we had to compress the size, but you can get the idea :)

Chacho's and Chalucci's with the O'Donnell's

Here we are with old friends...no matter where in the world we go, Calvin knows someone! The O'Donnell Family (Shannon, MaryRose, Kyle, and Mikayla) and the Mellish Family (Alyson, Calvin, and Mason)! Merry Christmas...Texas style!

Austin's Trail Of Lights

The Mellish Family @ The Trail Of Lights

Here we are on the bus to the Austin Trail of Lights ... sorta like Christmas at the Prado. The entire park is lit up with scenes of Christmas and tons of lights. You'll also find snacks, music, and crafts. This particular evening was on warm side and so I think half of Austin must have been there. But it was really neat to see. Mason was enthralled at all the lights, particularly when we would walk through a tunnel of lights. Then his eyes really lit up! Merry Christmas little man!
